Retreat Testimonial
During a Praying Through the Tabernacle retreat, the room was arranged with prayer stations representing the different areas of the biblical Tabernacle. The women moved through each station in sequence, ending at a space representing the Holy of Holies. To enter, they walked beneath a bridal arch while women stood on either side praying for each person before she stepped through into a quiet place of prayer and rest in God’s presence. Karen was especially hesitant at that final station. This is a portion of her testimony.
“At the 2013 Women’s Retreat, Pastor Elaine teaches on the Tabernacle. I thought it was a pretty cool educational study and background. Until the last day of the retreat, she teaches on the Holy of Holies and how we are all going to walk into the Holy of Holies, which has been made possible by Jesus’ death on the cross.
I begin to feel uneasy. I have no idea why. I watched as each woman walks through without any trouble. I tell myself I can do this. After a lot of time and much prayer I walk into the Holy of Holies. As soon as I stepped through I looked up behind me, towards God and in my mind I think, ‘You let me in.’
I guess the stronghold in believing He would never accept me was so super strong. That was the beginning of my freedom from lies I’ve been listening to and a new journey in all the things God has been wanting for me in my life. And it has been amazing.”
